Quantitative histology
This is another function that virtual microscopy has compared to traditional microscopy. Processing digital data can be easily standardized and with proper software you are able to fully exploit the opportunities.
3DHISTECH offers MIRAX HistoQuant for the needs of quantitative histology. MIRAX HistoQuant is a general quantitative image analysis software based on image segmentation. It calls up bookmarks from MIRAX virtual slides and can count and measure every detected object morphometrically (perimeter, diameter, area, shape factor) and densitometrically (R, G, B, gray densities).
The masks of detected objects are stored in the virtual slide but they can be also exported to comma separated files (CSV) for statistical analysis.
